competition swim suits The Seals do not require a specific uniform for competitions, though meet rules require girls have a one piece suit. All suits should fit tightly as that causes less pull in the water and makes for faster times.
Girls suits are sized correctly when two fingers fit quite snug under the shoulder strap. There should be very little give. A suit that is properly fit will seem "too tight" to the swimmer. As the child wears the suits, and as the chlorine breaks down the elasticity in them, they WILL get larger.
The team purchases suits in team colors (navy and gold/yellow) and can get quantity discounts.
If you've already have a suit for competitions, that is fine. But consider the option the next time your child needs a meet suit.
For those who wish to purchase competition team suits, these are the 'official' team uniforms.
Percy and Sharon have offered to advocate to TYR to sponsor the Seals swim team. If TYR agrees, they would sponsor the team through Dakota Sport. This could result in a team banner and potentially clothing for the coach (Bill) and assistant coach (Ellen). TYR is motivated to sponsor a team in our area as Speedo has a firm foothold with the Snow Fox and SD collegiate teams.

Dakota Sports (41st Street and Kiawanas - across from O'Gorman campus) contacts are Percy and Sharon. Percy's e-mail is percy@daksport.com. Call ahead if you want to speak to them in person. Sharon is very good about working with kids and parents on goggle fit. Both can work with you re: suits and other gear. The rest of the staff will be aware of the team discount. However, I have found Percy and Sharon to the best contacts regarding specific swim gear issues.
When you go to Dakota Sport, identify yourself as a Seals team member and ask for the Seal's team price. The discount is approximately 20%. Dakota Sport will have full price on the tag information. They have our information now so you can start ordering immediately.
This Team Car Window Decal helps promote our team in the Sioux Falls area, and shows team spirit! Each new team member gets one for free, and additional decals are $3.00 each. Contact one of our board of directors for information on getting more decals.

These are also not required although we are able to find our team members quickly at meets if they are worn. The team keeps these on hand if you want them.
summer swim equipment
The Seals purchased fins and kickboards for all Seals for use during the summer season. Each swimmer will be assigned a board and will be responsible for it over the season. They will be turned back into the team at the end of the season.
